Privacy Policy
How FindTalents collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Version 1.1 · Last updated: July 19, 2026
This Policy works together with our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Trust & Safety.
1. Who we are and scope
FindTalents operates an online marketplace that connects customers with independent professionals ("Talent") for local services. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the FindTalents website, applications, and related services (the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you acknowledge this Policy and our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, optional phone number, password (stored hashed), profile photo, bio, service categories, rates, service area, job and posting details, messages, reviews, dispute evidence, verification documents (identity, insurance), identity selfies, consent records, support requests, and Talent payout onboarding data submitted to our payment processor. We collect transaction metadata (amounts, status, fees, escrow state, subscription status). We also collect approximate location you set on your profile, device and browser type, IP address, log and audit data, cookies or similar identifiers, and how you use the Platform.
3. How we collect information
We collect information when you register, update your profile, book or offer services, message other users, submit verification materials, contact support, or interact with the Platform. We collect technical data automatically through logs, cookies, and similar technologies. We receive information from payment processors, identity or screening providers where you opt in, and OAuth providers if you sign in with Google or Apple.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to operate the marketplace: create and secure accounts, match Customers with Talent, process escrow payments and subscriptions, display profiles and reviews, run verification and background screening, perform AI-assisted identity review where you consent, compute reputation, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, send service-related notices, comply with law, and improve the Platform. We use the minimum data reasonably necessary for each purpose.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal information to perform our contract with you (providing the Platform), based on our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and marketplace integrity), with your consent where required (for example, certain marketing or optional verification steps), and to comply with legal obligations (tax, financial, and safety records).
6. Payments and financial data
Payment card data is collected and tokenized by our payment processor. FindTalents does not store full card numbers on our servers. We retain transaction records, payout references, payout account identifiers, and escrow status as needed for accounting, disputes, chargebacks, and legal compliance.
7. Verification and background screening
If you apply for verification or background screening, we collect and process documents, selfies, consent records, extracted document information, AI-assisted review results, admin decisions, and third-party screening results to determine eligibility and display badges on your profile. Manual identity review may include AI-assisted document quality checks, text extraction, and one-to-one comparison between the ID photo and selfie. These tools are advisory; a human admin makes the final manual verification decision. Screening may be performed by FindTalents staff or third-party providers under contract. Results are used for trust and safety, fraud prevention, and platform eligibility, not for employment decisions by FindTalents.
8. How we share information
We share information with: (a) other users as needed to complete a job (for example, name, profile, messages, and job location between the Customer and Talent); (b) service providers who help us operate the Platform (payments, hosting, email, storage, AI-assisted verification review, analytics, screening) under confidentiality and data-protection terms; (c) authorities or parties when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, and security; and (d) successors in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy. We do not sell your personal information.
9. Location information
We use location you provide (address, ZIP, map pin, or device location when you choose) to show nearby Talent and job postings. Job-specific location may be shared with the other party to a booking. You can update or remove profile location in account settings. Precise location is requested only when needed for matching or a job, not for unrelated tracking.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, preferences, and understanding how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may limit functionality.
11. Messages, reviews, and content
Messages, reviews, photos, and other content you submit may be visible to other users, admins resolving disputes, or support staff as needed to operate the Platform. Do not share sensitive personal information in public profile fields or messages unless necessary for the job.
12. Communications
We send transactional messages (account verification, booking updates, escrow notices, dispute updates, security alerts) as part of the service. We may send product announcements or marketing if permitted by law and your preferences. You can opt out of non-essential marketing emails using the unsubscribe link or account settings where available.
13. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can update much of your profile and location in account settings. To exercise other rights, contact us using the details at the end of this Policy. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
14. Account deletion
You may request account deactivation or deletion through account settings or by contacting us. Deletion removes or de-identifies personal data where possible while retaining minimal records required for legal, tax, dispute, fraud-prevention, and financial integrity obligations (for example, completed transaction logs).
15. U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights regarding access, deletion, correction, and opting out of certain processing. We do not sell personal information as defined by applicable state laws. To submit a request, email us or use our contact page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
16. International users
FindTalents may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your home country. By using the Platform, you understand your information may be transferred internationally with appropriate safeguards where required.
17. Security
We use technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging on sensitive actions, and signed URLs for document storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Use a strong, unique password and protect your account credentials.
18. Data retention
We retain personal information while your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, including legal, tax, accounting, dispute, fraud-prevention, and safety requirements. For manual identity review, raw uploaded ID/selfie files are retained while review is pending and are scheduled for deletion after the closed-case retention window configured by FindTalents, currently 30 days unless a longer period is needed for dispute, fraud, safety, or legal reasons. We may retain metadata, consent records, AI review summaries, admin decisions, and audit logs after raw documents are deleted. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify data consistent with our retention practices.
19. Children's privacy
FindTalents is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
20. Third-party links and services
The Platform may link to third-party sites or integrate third-party services (such as payment processors or OAuth login). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party handling of your information.
21. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version with an updated date and version number. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
22. Contact
